Price: $30.40 $38.00
Description
This package includes the Manhattan GMAT Test Simulation Booklet and Stopwatch. This set is ideal for students who want to familiarize themselves as much as possible with real GMAT test-taking conditions before the exam. Working with the Test Simulation Booklet will take the surprise out of the scratch paper and marker you will be given on test day, and using a stopwatch will allow you to practice timing, an essential skill for scoring well on the exam.
Included Materials
- Test Simulation Booklet
This important preparation tool helps you become comfortable with the laminated scratch paper booklet and marker that you will be given when you sit for the official exam (regular paper and pencils are not allowed in testing centers). Our Booklet consists of 5 laminated double-sided pages, and it is virtually identical to the pad provided at official GMAT testing centers. Also included in your purchase is the same type of non-permanent marker used for the GMAT. You can erase your work using a damp paper towel.
- Stopwatch
One of the most important aspects of the GMAT is timing. The Manhattan GMAT stopwatch will enable you to time yourself while practicing questions, thereby allowing you to get comfortable with appropriate pacing for test day. This stopwatch displays time for individual problems and cumulative exercises, and recalls times for up to 30 questions.
How to Study with this Prep Package
- Using the Test Simulation Booklet
For security purposes, GMAC does not allow students to use regular scrap paper and a pencil in the testing center. When you take the GMAT, you will receive a 5-page laminated booklet and dry-erase marker for your scratch work. Working out problems in this booklet takes some getting used to as it is typically more difficult to write on the laminated pages compared to regular paper. It is important to use the Test Simulation Booklet when answering practice questions, and especially when taking practice exams, as it will help you better prepare for test day.
- Using the Stopwatch
Keeping pace on the GMAT is essential to doing well. The key to a great GMAT score not only lies in mastering the content tested on the exam, but also making sure you get through all of the exam questions before running out of time at the end of a section. Using a stopwatch while studying will instill good pacing habits, resulting in a more heightened sense of when you need to move on to the next question. Generally, we recommend sticking to a pace of roughly 2 minutes per question (1.5 minutes per question for Sentence Correction).
- Practice GMAT Exams
Always use the Test Simulation Booklet as scratch paper when you take practice GMAT Exams. This will help you get used to the feel of the surface before test day.
- Practicing Questions
We recommend using the Test Simulation Booklet as scratch paper and the stopwatch as a timer whenever you complete practice questions out of the Official Guide. The more you use a stopwatch, the better innate sense of timing you will develop; this will make it easier to know when it’s time to give up and guess on a question.
