Live Online Class Testimonials

What was your favorite part of the Live Online Learning Experience?

I liked that my questions could be answered by someone else at times when the Lead Instructor was busy (rather like leaning over and asking a neighboring student a question for clarification of what the instructor just said -- but better).  I was concerned that, even though the class is fairly small, my questions might get lost in the confusion of online teaching.  With the help of the CO-Instructor's role, I felt that I had a MUCH better learning experience than if I had attended a physical location, even if the class size were smaller.  I also liked that both instructors appeared to be monitoring the Direct Messaging screen, and that it also appeared as though the CO-Instructor was flagging some of the students' questions for the LEAD Instructor to comment upon.  I also liked that the CO-Instructor occasionally got on the mic to help clarify a topic if the students were confused.  This method of teaching (LEAD Instructor and CO-Instructor) has been my best experience in learning that I have ever had!  I would LOVE to have more classes taught this way!

The convenience.  I started the class while I was on vacation back home in the states and was able to finish without any interruption after returning to Japan.

Text messaging to augment live presentation.  [The] ability to do class from work or home...If I wasn't able to leave work by 7:30 to get home in time, I wouldn't have to worry about missing or being late to class!  With my unpredictable schedule, this is a HUGE benefit!

I can concentrate better in my pajamas and walk around with my wireless laptop and not miss things.

I have learned a great deal in a relatively short period of time.  A clear sense of the objective is never lost in this class...It is an environment free of distractions...When someone asked a question, it was usually thought out and worth asking...The classmates who have commented agree that this course is superior to other offerings.

How would you compare in an in-person class to ManhattanGMAT's Live Online classroom?

I was very leery of taking an on-line course. I really had no desire, but after meeting Zeke in a sales pitch course at University of Chicago Gleacher center and finding out that he was teaching the class, I thought I would give it a try. I thought at least I would get the materials out of the class. However, I was surprised at how much more I got out of the class beyond just the course work materials. He is a very engaging speaker and really keeps a class captivated during the online courses. I imagine this would be more so in a face-to-face traditional classroom. Had it been anyone else teaching the class, I may have been more reluctant to sign up.

The platform for this class made it much more convenient since there is no wasted time commuting to/from the classroom and the Elluminate application allowed for all the tools to be utilized that would be used in the classroom.

The online class was great! First, you can't beat the convenience of attending a class from home! The hassle of traveling to/from class is gone. Since I took the class at home on a Saturday, I didn't have to worry about getting out of work on time in order to make it to class, and I also didn't have to worry about factoring in the time needed to travel to class. In addition, I found the online experience to be less stressful than being in a traditional classroom. I think the online class made me more comfortable speaking out in class, and also made me less shy in terms of asking questions or saying that I didn't understand something.

How would you describe your ManhattanGMAT experience to a friend?

As a student who has now taken both the on-site and new online course, I was pleasantly surprised with my teacher's comfort level and preparedness. It was as good if not better than the on-site platform. The straightforward and maneuverable operating system makes learning that much easier... The engaging real-time discussions and Q&A prevent me from losing concentration. Secondly, the real-time platform enables students to incorporate all of ManhattanGMAT's proven test taking strategies from the comfort of their home and/or office...

I would recommend that any of my friends who are going to take the GMAT take this course over any other... I feel that this course emphasizes more concepts than strategies... I was skeptical because it was on-line but now I think the concept of distance learning is great.
Amy E. Ingram, Ohio

The instructors seemed much more knowledgeable about the GMAT beyond a peripheral level...ManhattanGMAT gives solid applicable methods for answering verbal and quantitative questions.  They break it down to the most basic components and build...to concepts...applicable to Exam day.
Alissa Cummings, Illinois

Being able to text message questions to the co-instructor is a great idea.  It does not slow down the class, and it keeps you from feeling self conscious about asking the whole class to stop for your question.  Also, it allows the co-instructor to mull over alternate solutions to problems, which you can read and compare to what is being presented on the whiteboard.
Lisa Bratt, Connecticut

The [different] types of questions have been researched thoroughly and the best strategies have been provided during the course of the classes. The instructors' knowledge and experience...is exceptional. I would say that if a person attends class regularly and keeps on top of the course, a higher GMAT score is unavoidable.
