Manhattan GMAT Office Hours
Office Hours are weekly one-on-one sessions with a Manhattan GMAT Instructor over Elluminate, our online teaching platform. Registered course students can use these sessions to discuss and diagram questions that have come up between classes. 9-Session Course students receive a total of nine 30-minute sessions to be used once each week during their course. (Note that unused Office Hours do not roll-over to subsequent weeks.) Guided Self-Study students receive two 30-minute sessions to be used within 6 months.
Setting Up Your Computer for Office Hours
Setting up your computer for Office Hours requires a Java-enabled browser and the software for Elluminate. Keep in mind that if you plan on accessing your weekly Office Hours from multiple computers, you will need to set up ELluminate on each computer separately. Also, if you are behind a corporate firewall, there is a good chance Elluminate will not function properly. When in doubt, return to this page and test your system out.
- Install & Verify Java - Most browsers have Java pre-installed. If you are unsure whether or not this is true for you, visit the link to download and verify the Java platform on your computer.
- Download & Install Elluminate - Elluminate is Manhattan GMAT's online teaching platform and an essential component to any Office Hours session.
- Test the Office Hours System on Your Computer - After you have installed Java and Elluminate, be sure to test your computer to make sure the Office Hours system works!

Scheduling an Office Hours Session
- Pick a Day and Time Range - Decide on a day and time range for your session. Manhattan GMAT schedules several 30-minute sessions, one after another, during a larger block of time. For example, you might see that there are times available between 2pm - 5pm on a given day. If you click on that option, you will be assigned a 30 minute block between those hours.
- Fill Out the Question Submission Form - Although submitting your questions before your Office Hours session is not required, it is highly recommended. Your Office Hours Instructor will be able to review your questions before your session so that he or she has an in-depth solution ready to discuss with you. If you do not submit questions to discuss, your Instructor will not be able to prepare in advance and you won't be able to cover as much ground. Remember you can edit or add questions up to 8 hours before your scheduled session.
Rescheduling / Canceling Sessions - If it is 12 or more hours before your start time, you can cancel your OFfice Hours appointment and reschedule another session later that week. If you cancel or attempt to reschedule fewer than 12 hours before your start time, you will lose your session for that week.
Attending an Office Hours Session
You will receive an e-mail reminder before your session. To attend, just log into your Student Center, and select the Office Hours tab to view your appointment. A link to your Office Hours session will be active 15 minutes before your scheduled time. Just click on the link to open Elluminate and get started!
