Hemanth has always loved mathematics, science, and the interconnection between modern physics and eastern philosophy. He received his BS in Computer Science / Physics from Columbia University's Engineering School, but was dissatisfied with his experiences in the IT field and sought something more substantial. In 2002, he joined the New York City Teaching Fellows and subsequently taught mathematics and computer science for five years at one of New York's largest (and roughest) inner city public high schools.

Hemanth became "Mister V" and discovered a genuine passion for teaching and inspiring students from the most challenging circumstances imaginable. He took over as Coordinator of Student Activities, organizing a myriad of special events such as multicultural talent shows, assemblies featuring famous guest speakers, dances, and poetry slams. Having grown up a true Hip Hop enthusiast, Hemanth based his Master's Thesis on the factors contributing to the identities of inner city students (steering them away from education), with an emphasis on mass media and Hip Hop Culture. During his tenure as a high school teacher, he received numerous awards both for his ability to inspire students and for his achievements inside the classroom.

Today, Hemanth is a motivational speaker and a visionary, with aspirations to found his own nonprofit organization. He decided that earning an MBA with a focus on social entrepreneurship is the best way to reach his goals, and plans on attending Business School in the near future. In the meantime, he earned a 780 score on the GMAT and brings his 5 years of classroom teaching experience and 10 years of private tutoring experience to Manhattan GMAT. Students will benefit from Hemanth's expertise in explaining sophisticated problems using clear, memorable steps and strategies.
