Viren Tellis
Viren's prior work experience is in consulting and entrepreneurship. After graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in business and an emphasis in cinema/television, Viren worked in economic and financial consulting for attorneys in litigation for four years at Cornerstone Research. In addition to consulting for Cornerstone, Viren developed training modules in both hard and soft skills for consultants across the firm. This love for interacting with and helping others drew him to the GMAT instructor position. While a senior at USC, Viren partnered with a few others to open a Quiznos Franchise in Los Angeles. He owned and operated the store concurrent to the consulting job for a couple years.
Viren is now an Angeleno living in the Windy City. He is currently pursuing his JD-MBA at Northwestern Law and the Kellogg School of Business. When not busy with his academic schedule or teaching classes at Manhattan GMAT, Viren enjoys exploring the city in search of unique restaurants and bars. He loves Asian food and street tacos, and Asian street tacos. His favorite hour is happy hour and he will rarely turn down the offer to grab a whiskey drink. And yes, the winters are really cold in Chicago, so please don't remind him.
Growing up a homer, you won't see Viren missing many USC football games, Lakers basketball games, or US National Team soccer games. In fact, he didn't miss a USC football home game for 8 seasons straight while attending school and working in Los Angeles.
Feedback From Viren's Recent Students
"My instructor has an effective way of engaging the entire class. He encourages students to go over their thought process when explaining a problem. My instructor seems to have a strong command over every discipline covered on the GMAT. He is also very knowledgeable about the test in general. From the first class of class, he was friendly and approachable, I also thought he related to students well."
"Very engaging and personable, accommodates everyone's questions and is approachable. Clearly knows the material well and is passionate about the area/topics. Since he is a current Kellogg student also answers MBA related questions. Explanations were very comprehensive, organized, encouraged class participation."
