Sarah Ryan
Sarah spent two of the best years of her life getting her MBA at Wharton and continues to be active with the school today, serving on the alumni board in London, as well as being a Development Ambassador for her class and an alumni interviewer. Given how much she loved Wharton, she is keen to help Manhattan GMAT students get into the school of their choice. Sarah began her teaching career while at Wharton, teaching Financial Accounting to undergraduates and Marketing Strategy to MBAs and Executive MBAs.
Immediately after receiving her BA from Duke University with a degree in Economics, Sarah joined Merrill Lynch first as an analyst in the Chicago office and then as an associate in the London office. After graduating from Wharton, Sarah returned briefly to Merrill Lynch in the London M&A group, but then spent the next several years as Head of M&A for the International businesses of LexisNexis and Thomson Financial. Despite the exciting work and abundant business travel, Sarah couldn’t ignore her entrepreneurial calling, and left in 2010 to focus on her real estate businesses, philanthropic endeavours and advising start-ups and established businesses on funding and M&A.
A Chicago native, Sarah has travelled all over the world, visiting over 70 countries, but makes her home in London, enjoying the amazing theatre, museums and cultural life of the most cosmopolitan city in the world.
