Andrea Pawliczek
Denver, Colorado |
Andrea was born and raised in Lexington, Massachusetts before moving to Atlanta to attend Emory University. During her four year stay in the south, she earned a BA in Economics and Chemistry summa cum laude and developed an appreciation for country music and good barbecue; an appreciation of grits still eludes her. After graduating from Emory, Andrea returned to the Boston area to work as a marketing consultant to the pharmaceutical and medical device industries before deciding to head south again to pursue an MBA.
Andrea used her score of 800 on the GMAT to gain entry into Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. She attributes her success on the sentence correction portion of the test to her early introduction to grammar provided by her maternal grandparents, both former English teachers. In her second year of business school, Andrea spent a significant time in front the classroom serving as the lead teaching assistant for courses in both accounting and finance.
After graduating as a Fuqua Scholar in 2008, Andrea moved to Boulder, Colorado where she is pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors including co-founding RockyRadar, a technology blog. While Andrea enjoys the active outdoor lifestyle in Boulder, her loyalty to sports teams remains firmly rooted on the east coast with the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and Duke Blue Devils’ Basketball. When she is not watching sports, Andrea will most likely be found out on a run or bike ride or at a poker table. She has vowed not to let another Colorado winter pass without learning to ski.
Feedback From Andrea’s Recent Students
“She is very knowledgeable in all the subject matter along with understanding the student’s perspective; meaning, seeing where we may get stuck on an answer and why. Once she understands the student’s position, she pushes us along to choose the correct answers. Once we choose the correct answer, we understand why/how.”
“Andrea's patience and friendliness was very beneficial. She was always courteous in answering any question asked of her whether in class or via email. ”
