Washington, DC

When his first dance instructor told him to step on the "one," Sean looked down on the floor to find where the number "1" was painted. Despite no talent, experience or rhythm, Sean learned the intricacies of International-style Latin dancing, competed successfully as an amateur and then turned professional to teach others how to shake their booty. He is living proof that anyone can learn and master almost anything.

It is as a dance instructor that Sean developed and cemented his passion for teaching. As someone who required every movement to be broken down into its simplest components for him to get it, he is only too eager to do the same for others in dance or test prep.

After graduating magna cum laude in electrical engineering and mathematics from the University of Maryland, Sean turned down Columbia Medical School and a high-paying future in medicine to channel his inner-geek as a biomedical researcher at Johns Hopkins University. Once bored of writing papers and spurred on by a short attention span, he started studying for his GMATs and, with the help of the Manhattan GMAT Sentence Correction guide, scored a 780. He ran off to the UK for a year to drink and earn his MBA among the dreaming spyres of Oxford University. Now back in the former colonies thoroughly enjoying non-British food, he is pursuing his dream of starting a company or three but also toying with the idea of a PhD in marketing.

Feedback From Sean’s Recent Students

“Sean is very enthusiastic about the material, even when he acknowledges that it is boring. He keeps me engaged throughout the class, and balances my needs to revisit certain subjects with those of the class. ”

“He presented the material in a logical and concise manner. He timed all of our practice problems. He had great enthusiasm. Great at helping students analyze why they choice the answers they did, and why they were right or wrong. ”
