Sean McCrossin: Manhattan GMAT Instructor in San Diego
Sean McCrossin
San Diego, California

Sean first entered the teaching profession as a lecturer in mathematics and statistics at San Francisco State University, working hard to persuade students of the beauty and utility of statistical reasoning. Prior to joining Manhattan GMAT, he worked abroad with both children and adults as a teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL). Sean regards learning as one of life’s principal joys, and he finds great fulfillment in being able to help others learn, grow, and achieve their goals in life.

Outside the classroom, Sean is an avid student of economic history and of the new psychology of happiness and flourishing. He also has a longstanding interest in religion and the role of the transcendental in human experience, as well as an abiding fascination with eccentricities and extremes of human behavior. Sean is currently working at broadening his knowledge of mathematics and statistics. His ambition is to one day write a Serious Book and see it read by at least ten people.

As a citizen Sean is an enthusiastic proponent of simple living and a longtime advocate of bicycle commuting, which he believes to be a partial solution to some of America’s most pressing problems: global warming, urban sprawl, decline of community, heart disease, obesity, financial worry, and emotional stress.

Sean recently returned from five years living in Indonesia, a country he regards as the most fascinating in the world. He now lives in San Diego with his wife and their dog Bruno.
