Joe Lucero
Never the quiet or ordinary student, Joe still recalls the look of horror on his Kindergarten teacher’s face when he asked her how to spell paleontologist for his “what he wants to be when he grows up” self-portrait. Twenty-some years later, he continues to re-draw his answer, but has spent time teaching middle school students math and science, officiating Texas sports, and showing off cool animals at the zoo. When he discovered that he could get paid for solving data sufficiency problems and teaching them to others, Joe decided to become a GMAT instructor.
Joe has both a Biology degree and a Master of Education from the University of Notre Dame. He also has a 780 on his GMAT. In the fall, you will find Joe in a much better mood during weeks after the Fighting Irish win their football game. During the rest of the year, you will find him looking for new places to travel, reading almost anything non-fiction, crossfitting, and trying to solve every challenge problem in the Manhattan GMAT Student Center.
Feedback From Joe’s Recent Students
“Joe is very knowledgeable, friendly and explains difficult material very well.”
“I like his style of completing as many example problems as possible. He also understands other approaches and will follow through lines of logic not explicitly stated in the provided text books.”
