Manhattan GMAT Instructor, Kyle Widdison
Kyle Widdison
Salt Lake City, Utah

Kyle had an idyllic childhood, raised in a rural Utah town that no one could seem to pronounce correctly. Once he moved away to college he just kept on moving, logging 20 moves in 10 years with stops in Puerto Rico, Florida, Chicago and Denver.

Kyle graduated as the top Finance undergraduate from BYU, but he knew he would be going back for an MBA one day. Three years later and armed with a 760 GMAT score, he followed his heart back out West. His love for all things BYU brought him back to his alma mater, where he served as Managing Director of Cougar Capital, a student-run venture fund. Kyle started a business with a few partners in 2007, which turned out to be a perfectly awful time to start a business. After two years of long nights, last second investments, and months without pay, Kyle left day-to-day operations with a boat-load of debt, a ton of experience, and a marriage still intact. Today Kyle works as a strategic finance consultant for a large non-profit while still maintaining heavy involvement in the now-profitable startup business.

Feedback From Kyle's Recent Students

"There was never a doubt in my mind that Kyle understood all the material he was teaching. I never felt like he was just reading from a slide and this made the learning experience better for me. I was able to evaluate how Kyle approached each problem and then apply that to my own work. Kyle is also very approachable, when I needed extra help. I wasn't afraid to ask for it."

"Kyle does a great job engaging the class. He presents the material in a very effective manner and ensures each and every student is engaged in each class. This is critical since the material is dry at times and we all have busy lives. Kyle's humor and enthusiasm play a big part in this. He also does a very good ensuring all students understand the content covered."

Kyle spends most of his free time trying to keep up with (or at least track of) his four young children.
