Ian Jorgeson
Ian is a native Texan who first started teaching the LSAT in 1999 in Austin, Texas. He quickly picked up the GRE, GMAT, and SAT as well, and soon moved to Boston where he continued to teach all four tests full time. Ian also spent three summers in South Korea, teaching the LSAT and SAT. After his final trip to Korea, Ian decided he needed a break from the cold in Boston, and moved back to Austin, Texas. He continued to teach test preparation, and built a successful GMAT preparation program at the McCombs School of Business.
Ian is now back in Boston, teaching the GMAT, and attending graduate school in Archaeology. Most of his spare time is devoted to rooting for his favorite soccer team, Arsenal of the English Premier League. Ian also competes in the MIT mystery hunt each January, and hopes to finally help lead Team Codex to victory this year (they've been second or third for the last 5 years).
Feedback From Ian’s Recent Students
“Ian was extremely helpful and always available to answer questions outside class. He was always very personable and friendly and found a way to explain the logic behind the answer choices in an understandable way. ”
“It was very helpful when Ian understood the traps test takers fall for and shared those with us. He was very knowledgeable of the content, going beyond knowing the strategies to understanding and explaining the 'why' behind it all. Also, it was very useful when he offered alternative answer explanations. (i.e. 'If you addded x to this sentence, would it be right?') ”
