Jeff Doff
Providence, Rhode Island |
After overcoming challenges with pre-Algebra in seventh grade and letting go of his obsession with Nintendo, Jeff Doff went on to tutor Algebra in high school and has not stopped tutoring, teaching, and coaching since. Jeff graduated magna cum laude from Brown University and received his MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He has taught a closely related set of subjects such as SAT prep, outdoor leadership, entrepreneurship, and brainstorming techniques. After business school, Jeff worked as a brand marketer at Playtex Products in Westport, Connecticut, where he learned more than he ever expected to know about sippy cups and breast pumps.
Jeff is notorious for finding himself in ridiculously stressful situations such as cooking for 450 people, living in a yurt in 8°F degree weather, working 60-80 hour weeks as a strategy consultant, and of course taking the GMATs (earning a 770) and applying to business school while working full-time. Now, as a Manhattan GMAT Instructor, he helps students to gracefully manage their transition into business school. When not teaching the GMAT, Jeff helps clients in managing their career transitions and in making their work lives better, as a strategic life coach.
Jeff lives in Providence with his wife Tedessa and enjoys dancing, reading spy novels, playing racquetball, and cooking creatively.
Feedback From Jeff's Recent Students
“Jeff brings a lot of enthusiasm to class and it makes a big difference and every other 3 hour class before this I've ever taken has seemingly gone on forever, but our classes went by painlessly (and the material was for a standardized test!).”
“He was very good at approaching solutions a couple of different ways and never rushed you when questions come up.”
