Jane Cassie
Jane has loved standardized tests ever since taking the IOWA tests in first grade. Probably not coincidentally, that is also the year she decided to become a teacher. For some reason, she ended up getting a law degree at Georgetown, which she has yet to use for anything but shelf liner.
Still wanting to teach, she returned to Boston and taught anywhere that would have her in a huge variety of subjects: media law, ethics, accounting, leadership, aerobics, economics, tap dance, English, musical theater, and lots and lots of math.
She started tutoring some students at the Harvard Kennedy School in finance, and built a small tutoring business, where she spent most of her time tutoring the MCAS, TOEFL, SAT, ACT, and LSAT. Then, after a summer teaching the GRE and GMAT in Washington DC, she decided to add to her acronym collection and take the tests herself. Jane has an official GMAT score of 780 and an official GRE score of 1600.
In 2009, Jane returned to school to earn her Masters of Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. While there, she founded LOOP Abroad, a summer abroad program for high school students. Traveling is her real passion – she has lived in Costa Rica, Nepal, Brazil, and Thailand, and has traveled to 43 countries on 6 continents… so far. In the summers, she travels back to Thailand with LOOP to teach students about conservation and volunteer with rescued elephants.
