Our Instructors
We at ManhattanGMAT believe that teaching excellence is the key to student success. We take great pride in the fact that our GMAT instructors are not only experts, but also have expertise in the art of teaching.
EXCELLENCE: At ManhattanGMAT, a teacher must score at the 99th percentile (currently a 760+ overall) on an Official GMAT exam in order to be considered for our instructing staff. (Note: Some ManhattanGMAT Instructors satisfied this requirement when a 750 was a 99th percentile score, before mid-2007.)
EXPERIENCE: Every member of the ManhattanGMAT teaching staff must have extensive experience teaching classes and tutoring students before being hired. We only audition teachers who have proven success in the profession.
TRAINING: Our GMAT Instructor training is unmatched by any other test preparation company; new GMAT tutors must go through a 100+ hour training process to guarantee that they meet our unparalleled standards. This method ensures that every Instructor is an expert in our curriculum before setting foot in a classroom.
COMPENSATION: In order to attract and retain the best instructors for teaching the GMAT, we offer our teachers $100/hour, plus bonuses. This is up to 4 times the industry standard, and the highest in the industry.
PERSONALITY: Our teachers are selected on the basis of their ability to be engaging and interactive in the classroom, to bring life to the material and to make your GMAT preparation experience as painless and interesting as possible. We ensure this quality through our extensive in-person audition process - we extend an offer to approximately 1 out of 5 individuals who meet the score and experience requirements. This reflects the fact that there is a vast difference between ability on the GMAT and ability to lead a class (there are some boring 800-scorers out there).
