Upon returning to the States, J.R. landed with Score! Learning Inc., where he managed after-school learning centers for kids in grades K-8. J.R. spent four years with the company, and most recently held the position of Senior Director, managing three sites in the Chicago suburbs. His many roles with the company included training and managing center directors, leading seminars for directors on management and leadership, delivering instruction to students, and cleaning up after the occasional ‘accidents’ of 4-year-olds in center bathrooms.
J.R. then attended the Kellogg School of Management, where he began his teaching career with Manhattan GMAT. He now works as a project manager for the Chicago Public Schools, the third largest public school district in the U.S. His projects with CPS have included business process redesign, along with the reorganization of administrative services to improve the quality of principal support. Outside the classroom, J.R. enjoys golf, cooking, and playing the guitar.
