If you're looking for an instructor you can relate to, Tate is your man. Having significant experience both inside the classroom and in the business world, Tate is able to help students with their GMAT challenges while also able to relate to their career goals and business school admissions processes.

With a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School, Tate has worked for over 6 years in industry, with 2 years in management consulting at Oliver, Wyman & Co. and over 4 years in investments.

Tate worked as an Associate for AEA Investors, a $1 billion+ private equity firm, before working as a partner for a short time at a startup hedge fund, followed by a 2+ year stint at a $2.5 billion fixed income hedge fund in New York.

Tate began his teaching career during his undergraduate years at the Wharton School. With dual concentrations in OPIM (Information Systems) and Finance, Tate worked as a research assistant with Prof. Steven Kimbrough in the OPIM department. Dr. Kimbrough soon made Tate the first-ever undergraduate teaching assistant for OPIM 101, a required introductory Information Systems course with over 400 students each semester.

Additionally, Tate served as a teaching assistant for both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics courses while at Wharton. The bearer of a 780 on the GMAT, Tate has worked with ManhattanGMAT for over 2 years as an instructor. Students have praised Tate's ability to "break down difficult concepts into simple and manageable pieces" as well as to maintain "a perfect mix of teaching and student involvement and participation." Tate has also participated in the development of ManhattanGMAT’s proprietary computer-adaptive tests as well as its private tutoring practice.
