Tim Sanders: GMAT Tutor in San Francisco
Tim Sanders
Houston, Texas
Tim Sanders is many things. Poet. Teacher. Student of the world. Evil genius. He constantly strives to make the world a better place, using his intelligence and problem solving abilities to develop new and exciting schemes. He tutors with Manhattan GMAT to finance his efforts while giving him time to work on other projects. Tim's level-headedness, cool sense of self and ability to thrive on the idiosyncrasies of the classroom experience make him an ideal candidate for tutoring. But he's also atypically concerned with ensuring that his students fully grasp and comprehend the subject at hand, and his years of teaching experience help him achieve this goal.

Tim has a life-long passion for teaching; in addition to earning graduate degrees in education from Washington University and the University of Missouri, he taught high school for several years and continues to operate mathleague.org, an organization that brings math contests to the local and state level in several states. Tim's idea of a vacation is taking his show on the road, training teachers and organizing math contests in random foreign countries.

In addition to teaching, Tim spends time working on infrastructure development projects for Native American tribal governments. His leadership experience in his own tribe prompted him to attend Stanford Law School, where he graduated in 2007 with an emphasis on tribal law. His recreational reading extends to such authors as Richard Dawkins and Thomas Friedman, the latter's emphasis on globalization inspiring Tim to outsource much of the writing of this bio. Although Tim scored 780 the first time he took the GMAT, he promises to do better next time now that he has learned all the secrets of Manhattan GMAT's curriculum.

Feedback From Tim's Recent Students

“Tim never makes the students feel "dumb" if we don't choose the correct answer or if we ask any questions. I don't feel like he is an instructor only, but also a peer. He is very approachable.”

“He is able to make the 3 hour class relatively engaging and is very apt at explaining content in a method that helps understanding.”
