Andy Kamons: GMAT Tutor in Washington DC
Andy Kamons
Washington, DC
Andy Kamons is a native of Miami, Florida, though in recent years he has learned that you can find the same sun and humidity in Washington DC without having to deal with any frustrating sand, saltwater, or culture. When he isn’t soaking up the rays, Andy can be found cruising the hallways of government. A recent graduate of the international relations and economics Masters program at the School of Advanced International Studies of Johns Hopkins (whew…say that 5 times fast), Andy is poised to enter a career of government service, outwitting tin pot dictators and defending truth, justice, and all that.

Prior to taking Washington by storm, Andy taught math to high school students in Morocco and worked for a financial consulting firm. The world of business retains its allure, and Andy has parlayed a bit of his finance training into a consulting position with a start-up providing solar and wind energy solutions around the mid-Atlantic. He has also parlayed his good looks and street smarts into an 800 GMAT score. But like Moses to the Israelites, and no doubt to the consternation of top-tier B-schools the world over, he remains outside of their hallowed academic halls, content to guide wandering ManhattanGMAT students to their own top choice schools. It is compensation enough that Andy remains far and away the most popular instructor based out of Washington.

Andy received his undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University. In his spare time he likes to cook, play squash, watch pretentious movies, and listen to indy rock.

Feedback From Andy's Recent Students

“I was really impressed not only with Andy's knowledge of the GMAT test content and principles they were trying to test, but also at his ability to articulate why or why not something was they way it was. He could break down complex problems very well and present then in a clear manner.”

“Andy is quite brilliant, and it shows in his teaching. He portrays the material in a manner that is logical, cohesive and accurate, and yet his laid back approach and inclusive teaching style, comforts the nervous, future GMAT test takers.”
