Manhattan GMAT Instructor, Simon Jebreel
Simon Jebreel
London, England

An Englishman born and bred, Simon graduated in 2003 with a top degree in Philosophy (AKA Advanced Critical Reasoning) from Leeds University in the UK. After this, Simon signed up for the inaugural year of Teach First – the British equivalent of Teach for America – and became a high school maths teacher. After five challenging but fun years he decided he’d had enough of under-18 year olds and did an MBA at Said Business School, University of Oxford. Armed with a GMAT score of 770 first time around and a hard earned love of teaching, Manhattan GMAT was a perfect fit after graduating.

When he’s not teaching GMAT, Simon is Head of Strategy at a small company that launches and scales start-up social enterprises. He also enjoys playing squash, running, watching football (‘soccer’, not the American variety), travelling (in 2006-7 he spent a year travelling around the world, which included living and teaching in a Liberian refugee camp, keeping silent for nine days in an Indian temple, and doing the world’s highest bungee jump) – and spending time with his pet bearded dragon.
