Keith Blume: Manhattan GMAT Expert Tutor and Course Instructor in Chicago Illinois
Keith Blume
Chicago, Illinois
Keith Blume is an MBA graduate of the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (GSB).  His career path to B-school is a little unorthodox.  Out of high school, Keith joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the northern most capital in the world, the southernmost capital in the western hemisphere, and watched the sun rise on the Pacific Ocean and set on the Atlantic Ocean.  He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University (Gig ‘Em Ags).  As an engineer, Keith worked in the circuit protection and wireless industries.

Keith's first teaching experience came while he was in the Marine Corps (no yelling or pushups during class sessions, thank you very much!). In addition to his Marine Corps teaching experience, Keith has coached Kung Fu and has worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business, where he presented a decision-making methodology he developed with one of his professors. Currently Keith is working in his (second only to Manhattan GMAT) dream job as the Managing Director of FRED Distribution, a board game publisher and distributor. His biggest teaching responsibility arrived September 20th, 2003, when his wife Pam gave birth to their first child, Logan Alexander.

Keith scored a 760 on the GMAT, for which he is eternally grateful if only for the fact that the score made him eligible to teach with Manhattan GMAT.  When not working on GMAT questions, Keith enjoys biking, martial arts and games of all sorts.  Contrary to what one might think with his military background, Keith’s style of instruction is very positive and interactive.

Feedback From Keith’s Recent Students

“I would say that Keith's main strengths are his friendliness and enthusiasm, which I would rate as 10s if that were a possibility! That's not to say that Keith does not have strong knowledge of the material, because he does. Overall, Keith was an awesome instructor.”

“Keith has great knowledge and gives practical advice to students. He is a student's advocate and a great leader. He is open to alternative explanations of the answers and provides opportunity for comment.”
