Grace Trewartha: GMAT Tutor in New York
Grace Trewartha
New York, New York
A native of Texas, Grace Trewartha (formerly known as Wang) spent time in various parts of the country before finding her natural habitat in New York, home of the crankiest people on the planet. She is a graduate of Stanford University where she spent much of her free time teaching SAT test prep classes and watching the water polo team practice.

After graduation, she moved to Minneapolis, MN, a place she remembers best for being "friggin' cold". She left Minneapolis in 2000 to attend Harvard Business School. There, she found her passion which turned out to be, unfortunately, a life of leisure.

The bearer of a 780 score on the GMAT exam, Grace is a veteran in the classroom. Students tend to go a bit overboard when praising her qualities: "Grace is very engaging, she is very familiar with the material and always well prepared. She's a smarty, but not condescending at all. She's very friendly and funny. So, she is basically a perfect human being." Students also commend Grace's knack for "integrating her personal experiences with the GMAT into the material" and her "ability to explain difficult concepts in a concise way."

When she's not teaching, Grace can be found working in finance at Clinique, one of The Estee Lauder Companies. One of ManhattanGMAT's most popular instructors, Grace believes that humor and tough love can prove to be useful pedagogic tools.

Grace enjoys real estate investing, traveling around the world, running, old black & white movies, Fresh Direct, dispensing advice, celebrity gossip and kicking back in Astoria with her husband and their cat.

Feedback From Grace's Recent Students

“I really liked that she was able to explain hard content in a very understandable way. She also was very realistic about the performance and expectations of the exam (i.e. you wont get everything right but that's normal and okay). She made me feel more confident about taking the exam.”

“Grace is very likeable and extremely clear, she is very knowledgeable and never blew off any questions students asked no matter how simple or complex they were; she also would explain why an answer was correct or incorrect. She was not high strung and she made the experience pleasant and bearable.”
