Carrol Chang: GMAT Tutor in New York
Carrol Chang
Washington, DC
Born in Flushing and raised partly in Flatbush but mostly in Rockland County, Carrol is thrilled to have come back to NY, the absolute greatest insomniac city on the planet. Her mildly dangerous obsession with all things edible as long as they come off a street cart was interrupted for four years of higher learning at Harvard, where she earned credits for reading intimidating texts like Cinderella and Hansel & Gretel. After graduation, she moved to the Chinese-North Korean border, where she lived and worked for two and a half years before returning to the aforementioned greatest city on earth.

Carrol has been teaching both informally and formally for over ten years. She began tutoring part-time in high school and has since helped over a hundred students from third grade to twelfth improve their performance and confidence in math, writing, grammar, biology, and various SAT tests. She also taught English to Korean Chinese teens for over two years, which explains her probably unnecessary mastery of some of the most obscure grammar rules in the English language. Bad for confused Chinese teens, good for prospective GMAT takers. With a 770 under her belt, Carrol is excited to see her students at ManhattanGMAT conquer the muddy waters of data sufficiency, argument structure, and work-rate problems.

Feedback From Carrol's Recent Students

“Carrol has the ability to explain difficult problems in a meaningful way so that students can apply those same methods to another problem. She also did a good job at creating a good class environment where it is okay to ask a question.”

“Carrol brings energy and excitement to the classroom, on topics that are being covered as well as the test itself. She is very approachable, and when the material was tricky she provided excellent examples as s supplement.”
