Eric Caballero
New York, New York

Eric earned his teaching chops tutoring hundreds of undergrad physics and math majors.  Eric earned a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA, researching the design of the next-generation internet.  Next, Eric managed wireless communications projects with the Office of Naval Research and freelanced as a television script consultant to ABC and FX.

Eric later moved to Boston after MIT’s Sloan School of Management made him a scholarship offer that he couldn’t refuse.  Eric studied entrepreneurship and strategy while in Business School, where he refined his teaching skills as a T.A.  Just before graduation, Eric was selected by the New Zealand government to be part of a small, swat team of experts to help New Zealand entrepreneurs jumpstart international expansion.  Eric also led dozens of his MIT Sloan peers on employment “treks” across the U.S., seeking careers in environments ranging from the Silicon Valley to Hollywood and Vegas.

Eric originally started teaching the GMAT as a way to bootstrap his post-MBA startup; he soon could not get enough of teaching or the incredible rush that comes from helping MBA applicants pursue their dreams.  To date, Eric has taught over 3000 hours with Manhattan GMAT, including spearheading GMAT courses for Google, Goldman Sachs, Boston Consulting Group, Morgan Stanley, Harvard University, and Princeton University.

Eric also oversees business development for Manhattan GMAT.  He considers it the greatest privilege to help his students get accepted to their #1 choice B-school.  His only pet peeve is people who settle for second best. “But if you’ve chosen Manhattan GMAT, that’s probably not your M.O.,” he says.

Feedback From Eric’s Recent Students

"Eric does an excellent job getting students engaged and thinking the way the test-writers think. Every class he pushes us to answer challenge questions considered 700-800 level and thoroughly explains the question at the end. This gives us the vision and motivation to improve regardless of what level we are currently at."

"Eric is highly engaging and entertaining. He has a ton of energy and enthusiasm which makes boring content fun. He makes everyone feel comfortable participating - he never puts down an answer or question which I've noticed and appreciated."

"Eric is engaging and brings high energy to each of his sessions. He is the Jaime Escalante of the GMAT - passionate, aggressive, and motivating."
