Haakon Brown
Chicago, Illinois |
A victim of both the downturn in the economy and his quest for the “perfect job”, Haakon began teaching and tutoring the GMAT to pay the bills and do something worthwhile and rewarding. During a particularly memorable class it was suggested by a number of his students that he teach business school, which sounded like a pretty good idea to him. As a result, Haakon is now a third-year PhD student in marketing at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Haakon scored a 770 on the GMAT.
Outside the classroom, Haakon enjoys sports (he is an avid New England sports fan), cooking and eating (not necessarily in that order), reading, music, photography, and the piano. Inside the classroom you might hear him doing one of his infamous impersonations, which range from Dr. Evil to Yoda. Most of the time, however, you will find him huddled at his cubicle in a windowless office at Kellogg, trying to come up with the next big idea in consumer research.
Feedback From Haakon’s Recent Students
“The strongest attribute would have to be Haakons’ ability to provide examples to the class which made the content clear. He’s a very good instructor that is very approachable.”
“The strongest attribute of the instructor is his ability to teach hard content without being arrogant or making other people feel bad for not understanding something.”
