Daniel Patinkin
Los Angeles, California |
Having called Chicago his home for some 30 years, Dan relocated to L.A. in August of 2008 to complete an MFA in Producing at the prestigious University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. Now, in addition to teaching, he runs a commercial and film production company that has developed and created numerous films, documentaries, promotional videos, and corporate videos.
Dan likes to refer to himself as a jack-of-many-trades. Prior to his career in film, he spent years in Chicago working in real estate development and financial trading. He has also worked as an operations manager, financial analyst and real estate broker.
Dan attended St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago's Taylor Street neighborhood before accepting the Well Scholarship to Indiana University. He left Bloomington with a B.A. in English and History, a concentration in business and a love for Henry Miller, coffee shops, and various parlor games. He also has completed significant graduate study at DePaul University in International Relations and Economics.
Dan spends his free time and money on travel, sports, entertainment and the arts. He is known to haunt various concert venues, cafes, cinemas and theaters around town. You might also find Dan in the gym, struggling through a yoga class, or hiking the canyon.
Feedback From Daniel’s Recent Students
"After only 3 weeks with Dan and hours of intense study on my own, I was able to raise my score 180 points! Dan helped me relax and gave me the tools to fully tap my intellect."
“Taking a test like this is scary, sometimes stressful. Dan's general demeanor made this prep process fun and lighthearted. I looked forward to coming to class every week.”
“Dan is a phenomenal teacher. He uses his great sense of humor to create a relaxed learning environment. His insight into the material behind each question gives each student the tools to attack the GMAT head-on. Without his help, I would not have scored in the 99th percentile.”
