I agree. Even touching at one point is considered as intersection. Two lines intersect only at one point, but it's not defined as "tangetial" - Being a tangent is subset of intersection points applicable for circles.

Same prob with me. I thought the question meant no of intersection points and of course I thought of tangential lines and thought they were non intersecting. Funnily I arrived on 2,4,6 which is also choice and got it wrong.. This makes it clearer now. Thanks for the explanation

intersect Two geometrical figures or curves are said to intersect if they have at least one point in common. "intersect" The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Mathematics. Actually they are right Ron. In India we are specifically taught that for 2 lines or shapes to intersect it is essential it has to pass through them. That is why I thought 1 couldn't be the answer and that the answer had to A or B.
On another note, I took 4 MGMAT Full length tests and scored 710, 670, 680 and 690 on them and scored 680 on my GMATPrep. I am taking my exam day after tomorrow. Could you give me a range or an estimate or even confidence interval of what score I might expect. (I know every test taker is different, am just asking statistically to calm my nerves)

The GMATPrep has a 30 point standard deviation and it is the best predictor of your eventual score. Thus, you have about a 70% chance of scoring in the 650-710 range. Good luck!
