 Post subject: THAT vs. WHICH
Post Posted: Wed Dec 10, 2008 11:43 am
Can someone please clarify the strategy to use for "that vs. which" sentence correction problems. I know that one is restrictive and one is not, but I'm not sure what that means. Also, is it true that on the majority of GMAT questions, "which" is proceeded by a comma?

Thank you.

Also, please try to post questions only once, so we don't duplicate efforts!

Finally, in the other post, I forgot to address your question about the comma, but yes, that's generally true when you have "which" introducing a modifier. You can also have something like "in which" - in that case, you wouldn't have a comma before which.
