Use of 'Which' by GMAC

Test-Preparation courses and tutorials are also available from individuals and companies not associated with GMAC, many of which are Web-based.


As per GMAT english, is this sentence completely right ?? in 'Many of which' - 'Which' logically refers to Test-prep courses and tutorials- a phrase which is totally distant from the which ... It could incorrectly refer to individuals and companies ...


Kindly clarify

PS : I hope quoting the GMAC bulletin is not illegal !!!

Ah, the irony.

"many of which are Web-based" is a noun modifier. A such, it should be placed immediately next to the modified noun. So you are correct, this is an incorrect sentence.

Clearly, the folks who write the questions are not the ones writing the bulletins.

yeah, I feel many times that some OG Quants problems (esp Word probs) are written incorrectly as per GMAT rules.

I think GMAC should mend itself before trying to preach others. :P
