No changes have been made to the algorithm recently. You'll have to dig a little deeper into your performance to figure out what went wrong. Did you have any timing issues on this one? How was your performance toward the end of the section?
Also, it is not necessarily the case that you will always get a higher-rated question when you get a question right. The test also has to manage question types and content areas. Your 700-800 question might've been only a 700 or 710 level question and your 600-700 question might've been a 680 or 690. If the algorithm needed to give you, say, an SC question that tested parallelism next, that may have been the closest difficulty rating to match the question type and content-area requirements. |
