I believe there are very few typos in this book:

ex: Page 106 try it # 4-9.. is this Question correct?

Page 86: answer 3.

can you please confirm this?

I agree with the above comment: Pg. 106 try it 4-9 (of the advanced quant book)

I believe there is a typo:

Statement (1) should have read a=b^2 NOT a^2 = b^2

I know that because in the explanation it says that b^2 must be positive so a is positive. If a^2 = b^2 as it says in statement (1), a could be positive or negative. Also when a is substituted into the equation, b^2 is plugged in for a not a^2, further indicating that the first statement should have read a=b^2.

Is this a typo or am I missing something?

in my version of the book, statement 1 does indeed say "a = b^2". If your version says something else, then yes there is a typo..

Oh okay, thank you for clearing that up.

That's interesting though, I didn't think there was more than one version of this book published, given that it was released quite recently. Coincidentally, others have found the same typo in their books... I guess we all have the "other version" of the book.

Nonetheless, thanks for the clarification!
