First, it's not uncommon at all to see no increase or even a decrease at the 2nd test. You're trying a bunch of new things but you still haven't mastered them and you're still slow with a lot of them. Don't worry about that too much.
Do make sure that you are analyzing your work (the problems) in the way that was discussed during class 2 (the "questions to ask" strategy lesson typically done at the end of class). If you missed those, didn't write them down, whatever, watch the tape of the class (on Elluminate if you're a virtual student or on the web site if you're an in-person student). Finally, you mention having done the in-action problems but you don't mention the OG problems. You are doing those as well, right? That's one of the most important steps - first make sure you know the materials and techniques, then make sure you can apply that stuff to OG-type questions. |
