Hello All,

first time posting. I've so far taken 3 MGMAT CATs with some odd verbal scoring

Test 1: 15 Wrong; 40; 91%
Test 2: 9 Wrong; 41; 93%
Test 3: 3 Wrong; 42; 96%

As an aside, the 3 wrong is way more in line with what I got on GMATPREP. But in any case, on the 3rd test, I got almost exclusively 7-800 level questions, got the 2nd question (7-800 level) wrong then something like 32 right in a row and a couple wrong in the end. Why is the scaled score so low? I feel that it should be in the high 40s, especially given the experience of others and my previous performance.

I just want to see if my overall score on this test is correct or if it should be meaningfully higher.

I had a similar experience. On one exam, I missed 9 verbal questions and received a 45 subscore. On my next attempt, I missed 3 questions and received a 45 subscore. Something is amiss here. It seems appropriate that I should at least be in the 47-48 range on the latter exam if 9 misses is a 45. Additionally, the last 8 questions on the 2nd exam were 600-700 questions - I would think the software would give me the opportunity to answer 700-800 questions after missing such a small # of questions on the first part of the exam (#14 (700-800), #24 (600-700), #28 (700-800)).

Also, interestingly - on a GMATprep exam - I missed 3 verbal questions and received a 45 subscore. Can I really only miss 0, 1, or 2 questions to fall into the 46-51 range? This would imply that at the upper level of the verbal subscore each missed question is a 2 point impact to the subscore! Seems like a rather large impact to one's overall score.
