A certain list consists of several different integers. Is the product of all the integers in the list positive?

(1) The product of the great and smallest integer is positive.
(2) There are an even number of integers in the set.

The answer is apparently c, but i disagree. What are your thoughts? Perhaps there is some unseen rule I am not aware of.

(1) it makes the greatest and smallest integer either both positive or negative, not enough on its own.
(2) not enough on its own,

(1) and (2): if there are an even number of integers in the set, it could work like this:

-++- = +
+--+= +
+-++=-
-+--=-

Ok, this doesn't make sense, according the rules, the products of the integers could be + or neg, meaning E is the answer. If anybody know why C. is the answer please help :)

But then I thought this way, if the smallest and largest integer at either both positive or negative. then ---- ++++ because the numbers between have to be smaller and larger then the smallest and largest value, hence they can't switch signs. Since it even, it does not give the - the opportunity to to revert to --- = -

Hope this is the right explanation.
