Post subject: Question on application essays
Post Posted: Tue Sep 09, 2008 12:25 am
The application I'm working on has the two typical essay questions. One of them asks how an MBA from their school will help you achieve your goals. The other asks how your past experiences have prepared you for the MBA.

I know the idea for the second one is to talk about your career progression up to this point. Is this always true? I have a very unique experience that I believe will distinguish from the majority of other candidates, but it's not career related.

In college I was accepted as a "walk on" for one of the athletic teams after being cut during tryouts my first two years. Should I try and talk about both since it probably is very important to talk about your career, or can I just focus on my "walk on" experience and be safe?

Thank you.

Hint: what lessons did you learn from your athletic experience that you applied to your career?
