Thank you for your inquiry.
I highly doubt that as a Bangladeshi individual, the Admissions Committee will place you in the Indian category. However, you may need to educate the AdCom subtly to make sure that they understand that you are coming from an under-represented community, not the most over-represented one. I really don’t think that your grades will be an issue at a 3.15. Generally, we grow a bit concerned at anything under a 3.0. I don’t think that you are at a disadvantage because of your scores at your target program. You will have to differentiate yourself with your start-up and life experiences in order to overcome limited extras. Nonetheless, with a solid GMAT score, you should be competitive at Emory, BU, Simon, Babson and Georgetown. In a competitive year, Duke will be a reach, but considering how many other competitive schools you have on your list, you should definitely stretch for one.
