Product of xy is prime

Hi, There is a question on the Advanced Section that led me to ask this question:

As a general rule - if we are told the product of xy is prime.... is it safe to say that "X" OR "Y" MUST BE PRIME. and the other variable MUST be = 1.

Simply by definition that a prime number is only divisible by itself and 1.

Yes You Area Right!

Prime Number: A number that has only two factors: 1 and (itself).

non-Prime Number: A number that has more than two factors or only one factors.

Examples of numbers with more than two factors:
4 has 1, 2 & 4 as it's factors.

Example of numbers with more than two factors:
4 has 1, 2 & 4 as it's factors.

Example of number with only 1 factor:
There is only one number that has a single factor i.e 1.

Please correct me if I am wrong!
