Can you please contrast questions 183 and 222? I don't see why the 'FIZ' method would not be used in question 183 while it is used in question 222.

you can't use fiz in problem 183 because the 'f' and 'z' don't work in the first statement.
statement (1) says that x^2 is greater than 1; if x is a fraction ('f') or zero ('z'), that's impossible.
