Would like to enquire about the following idioms:

1. A merged with B
2. Merging of A and B
3. Merger of A and B
4. Merger of A with B

Is 4 correct?

You don't need to post a source if you aren't posting a test question - it's fine!

For idioms, it's best if you have example sentences - there are a lot of idioms that can be used only in certain circumstances. If you have specific sentences, please post them; in the meantime, here are some (correct) samples:

1) Taco Bell merged with Burger King to create the largest fast-food company in the world.

2) One example of a significant merger is the merging of Taco Bell and Burger King.

3) The merger of Taco Bell and Burger King resulted in the largest fast-food company in the world.

4) hmm. I'm not coming up with one here. I think people say this but I don't think it's grammatically correct - I think when you start with merger/merging the idiom is A and B. I'll ask Ron to let us know what he thinks too.
