Colon use?

[Question deleted - from a banned source (official GMAT paper test). Sorry!]

Why is the Answer C....And what's the general rule about colon use? How is it supposed to be paralle to the original sentence?

we can't address a posted PROBLEM unless you CITE THE SOURCE of the problem.

therefore, please tell us the source of this problem within the next few days, or we'll have to delete the problem. thanks.

This question is from the Test 55 of the official GMAT test Section 6 problem #14.

This is from a paper-and-pencil test. Because this is a source that GMAC sells to the public (as opposed to making it available for free), we cannot host the question - it falls under copyright license. Sorry. :(
