Hi MG, i am new on this forum. i have taken 2 of the practice tests till now and scored 540 in the first one and 630 in the second (42Q and 32V). i feel i could have done much better as i believe i didnt pace my self well during the test. i have taken all the manhattan books and they have been very helpful in clearing the concepts.
i will be taking my gmat the next month. Can you pls advice me what should be my startegy this month to increase my score to 650+. Also would it also be possible for you to kindly access my tests and advice on the areas i need to concentrate on. Since i am working i am only able to study at night for 2-3 hrs. In Verbal i just not able to score on CR. Especially the BOLD question types. Can anyone pls advice on how to attempt these type of questions.

Are you taking a class or private tutoring or are you working on your own? If you are in a class / doing tutoring, your instructor will provide you with advice on what to study based upon your test results and progress so far. If you are studying on your own and would like to get this in-depth feedback, you can sign up for just an hour or two of private tutoring to go over the material (this can take place in person, if you live near any of our tutors, or via our web conferencing platform, for which you need a high-speed Internet connection). Please contact the office (800.576.GMAT or studentservices@manhattangmat.com) if you would like to do this.

If you would like some more general feedback from the community, please let us know more specifically what your strengths and weaknesses are and we'd be happy to provide some advice.

If you need additional instruction beyond what is in the book on CR, you can do one of three things:
- use the built-in class resources, if you're taking a class (ask your teacher before or after class; sign up for office hours)
- post specific CR problems in the appropriate thread in this forum (eg, a problem from the red strategy guide would be posted in the MGMAT Verbal Guides thread), along with whatever your particular question is about that problem (this is free)
- sign up for some tutoring to get one-on-one instruction (this is not free - contact the office if you'd like to do this)

Also, just a general FYI, we have been noticing lately that the boldface questions types are not occurring very frequently on the official test - a lot of people haven't been getting any at all recently. Don't worry as much about those - pay more attention to the first four common types listed in the red CR book.

We don't currently hold in-person classes in the UK, but we do have an online web conferencing platform on which we hold regular classes and do private tutoring. You would meet live with an instructor and you'd be able to speak, view the same problem slides or any of your online resources (such as the tests). You'd also be able to draw / write on the slides and otherwise work through problems together. The only thing you won't have is video.

What are the bold question types?

Critical reasoning (arguments) have a subtype that employ boldface font. Parts of the argument are in bold font and then we're asked to identify the role that the boldface statements play in the overall argument.
