Can someone please help me with this problem?

Amount earned/day $96 $84 $80 $70 $48
Number of days 4 7 4 3 2

A student worked 20 days. For each of the amounts shown in the first two of the table, the second row gives the number of days that the student earned that amount. What is the median amount of money the student earned per day for the 20 days?

A $96
B $84
C $80
D $70
E $48

Thanks.

more to the point, you must notice that your 'list' does not consist of five numbers. it consists of twenty numbers:

48 48 70 70 70 || 80 80 80 80 84 || 84 84 84 84 84 || 84 96 96 96 96

the list has been separated into groups of five, for ease of reading.

the median is the average of the 10th value (right before the middle slashes) and the 11th value (right after those slashes). since both of those values are 84, the median is 84.
