when adding a recommender if i select NO for the question

"Do you wish to waive your right to examine this letter of recommendation?"

does it affect me in any way?

Thanks for your inquiry.

If you select “no” then it sends the message that you have read the letter, which in turn sends a message that the letter is in some ways compromised. The admissions committee wants to know that the letter is truly objective and thus strongly prefers that you waive your right to read the letter.
