Context: ManhattanGMAT RC guide (2007) Passage B - Television's Invention.
Q 4: The guide lists the answer as B - advertising and the sale of television sets. I think that the answer should be A. In the 2nd paragraph, the passage talks about the dominant paradigm of the television industry which is advertising based. Although paragraph 3 talks about revenue from television sets, I don't think the passage makes the explicit statement that this revenue actually goes to the television industry as opposed to the television manufacturer unless you are willing to make the leap that manufacturer's of TV were also creating programming.

Q 5: The guide lists the answer as D. I think that the answer should be B instead. Second paragraph clearly states Farnsworth had clear ideas about how the television should have been used but could not implement his ideas. Obviously, what else could an implementation of these ideas mean except to create his own educational programs. As for the notoriety part - we cannot make a judgment on that basis. For all we know, Farnsworth had sex-ed in his mind and that would have gained him enough notoriety during that time period.
My problem with answer D is that nowhere does the passage mention that Sarnoff was even aware of Farnsworth's existence or whether they even lived in the same time period. This choice is just out of thin air making no sense in the context of the passage.

Hi, please post the full text of the questions and the answer choices, and please put individual questions in separate posts. You don't need to post the full text of the passage but do quote the relevant sentences or paragraph. We don't always have access to our books when posting (and, even if we did, other students would like to learn from your questions, too, and for that, they need to see the question!).
