Hello,

I would really appreciate some insight about my chance getting in to a top-10 school.

My first attempt was 660 (Q47, v34) in this July after a 1.5 week of study.

In my second attempt in late August, I hit 730 (Q46, v44) but I was disappointed in the breakdown. 97% in Verbal vs. 75% in Quant. I worry about the 80%-threshold ...

In the mock tests, my quant was better (in between Q48-Q50).

I graduated in 2005 from one of the best schools in the country with B.Sc. in Business Administration and B.Sc in Economics (double major). My GPA was 3.8.

I have been working in the same company, an international business advisory services company, since my graduation and I have been recently promoted as a Corporate Finance manager. I had a strong record of work experience with clients from UK, Germany, Russia and CIS, and Middle East.

After all, do I need to take the GMAT again?

Many thanks
Cheers..

Hi Mehmetpan,

A 730 GMAT and the college/work experience you describe should make you competitive at most schools, including top-tier (although of course I don't know more about your leadership at work or your involvement outside of work to give you a full profile assessment). While it is always nice to break that 80% mark in both GMAT categories, a 75% Quant and overall 730 is still a very strong performance, especially given your undergraduate degree in a quantitative field and your work in finance. Spend the time on your essays instead!

Best of luck!
