Hi,
Fourth edition Guide 8, Parallelism Problem #14 (with the correction) read as: The consultant is looking for a cafe THAT has comfortable chairs and THAT provides free internet
Can I remove second THAT and still be correct? I am having difficulty understanding when "THAT" is copied and when it is implied (if ever). Please help.
Thanks

they are both correct. think of parallelism as splitting the sentence into two parallel tracks. you can often generate two correct versions of the sentence by choosing to split the sentence at two different points. if you split this one before the word "that", then "that" shows up in both parallel tracks (i.e. twice). if you split after the word "that", then "that" shows up only once and applies to the verbs in both tracks..
