The Federalist papers is a compilation of articles written by Alexander Hamilton and James Madison, as well as a few by John Jay, since each of them were advocates of the Constitution.
(A) since each of them were
(B) since they were each
(C) since all of them were
(D) each of which was
(E) because all of the men were
Does the use of "as well as" has any bearing on the use of "all"? Should "both" (if there were an option) be used instead?

i need a source on this problem so i can look up what it actually says. you have obviously copied it down incorrectly, because each of the 5 answer choices is wrong..
but to answer your question, no, we don't switch to "both". we still have three guys even if they are not all parallel to each other..

The Answer is 'E'
Reason:
Look at part of sentence after the underlined portion:'advocates of the Constitution.' This means the subject is plural
Now if you know 'each' (used before subject) produces singular subjects so 'each' cannot be used here. Thus A & D are out.
'Each' after a subject doesn't have an effect i.e. Subject can be plural / singular and will be defined by verb usage.
'All' produces a plural subject... we are left with choices C & E
in choice 'C' 'Them' doesn't have a clear antecedent.. Writers? or Articles?
Choice E states 'All of the men' and eliminates the pronoun >>> thus making the sentence very clear.
There are other errors in the choices but i think these pointers would be enough to answer the question..

There is no OA for this question. I have checked all the options are and that is how its given . is it C or E?

i will tell you once more: the question is invalid. please understand that there are a lot of dubious sources for SC material out there, and you should restrict your study to Manhattan GMAT, Official Guide, and GMAT Prep questions. your time will be far better spent doing this than trying to use questions like this one that are not valid. investigating why questions are invalid is also not a good use of your time..
THIS QUESTION IS INVALID. PRETEND YOU NEVER SAW IT AND SPEND YOUR TIME INSTEAD ON VALID QUESTIONS!
