Sorry to be posting this here, but I'm in sort of a hurry to register for classes. I am planning to apply during the coming Fall 2011 admission season. I scored a 690 (Q 46, V 38) in GMAT. To show a balanced acumen , i was told that getting a 'A' grade in a university level Statistics course can boost my application. Can you kindly specify the exact course ( by that i mean , Statistics 101 or advanced level or a different course altogether) .

thanks for your time, really appreciate it.

Hi grad.mad,

Showing a high mark in a local university course is a good way to demonstrate you are capable of MBA-level coursework. If you have no statistics background, a "101" course is a good place to start. If you think you can handle one level higher then by all means go for it. These courses are not a requirement for application by any means, so if you can handle advanced college statistics, then it is unlikely an admissions officer would be doubting your quant scores anyway!

Good luck,
Daniel Richards
