Can you please give a detailed explanation of the answer for this question? I am still unsure of the explanation given in the book. Thanks very much. :roll:

Area of triangle =1/2 Base*ht

Base =C-1 (X axis)

Ht=b (Y axis)

Area =b(c-1)/2

Amrinder, thanks for the explanation. Samstone, to prove this explanation, you could treat this as a "variables in the answer choices" problem plug in actual number for a, b, and c. However, it is much quicker to use Amrinder's technique and simply rely on the geometric formula for the area of a triangle.
