Hi,
The RC strategy guide mentions that GMAT will tell the number of questions which will be asked with a given passage. The information
will be mentioned at the top of passage.
Though I could not find the same in the GMAT Prep software, is it that the actual GMAT exam will show this information?
In GMATPrep I also could not find the line number information with the passage,
Regards

The strategy guides says the test will NOT tell us how many questions we will get. :) The test does not tell us this - but we typically get either 3 or 4 questions.
The test also no longer uses line numbers (though the line numbers do show up in OG). Instead, the test will highlight in yellow the relevant text in the passage if a question comes up that would once have used a line number.
